Create lovely handmade crochet offerings for your Day of the Dead altar (ofrenda)!

In late October, when the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead grows thin, families in Mexico create ofrendas--altars adorned with bread, sweets, water, flowers, and candles to guide their beloved spirits home. This beautiful tradition of remembrance continues to inspire people around the world, and now you can celebrate it with amigurumi crochet offerings to make and display.

In Dia de los Muertos Amigurumi, renowned Mexican crochet artist Susana Rodriguez presents 12 new patterns inspired by the symbolic elements traditionally found on an ofrenda. Including flowers, spirit companions, food for the soul, and candles, these crochet representations are the perfect handcrafted offerings and décor for this sacred custom.

Whether you're a beginner interested in learning a new craft, or an experienced crochet enthusiast looking to create handmade icons for a unique ofrenda, this book has patterns you'll love!

Patterns Include:

- Papel Picado (Festive Banners)

- Colibri (Hummingbird)

- Catrina (Iconic Figure of the Celebration)

- Cempasúchil (Marigolds)

- Veladora (Prayer Candle)

- Maíz and Other Treats

- And more!
